Schools are required under the Equality Act 2010 to have an accessibility plan. The purpose of the plan is to:
- Increase the extent to which disabled pupils can participate in the curriculum
- Improve the physical environment of the school to enable disabled pupils to take better advantage of education, benefits, facilities and services provided
- Improve the availability of accessible information to disabled pupils
Our school aims to treat all its pupils fairly and with respect. This involves providing access and opportunities for all pupils without discrimination of any kind.
At Greenheart Learning Partnership and Woodhouse Primary Academy we are committed to establishing equality for all pupils, their families, staff and members of our school communities.
We want our children to foster positive attitudes and relationships and share a sense if cohesion and belonging; and to be connected with and contribute to their world through a developing understanding of reciprocal rights and responsibilities.
Greenheart Learning Partnership stand against all forms of discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or ability. All members of our community are of equal value and we seek to recognise and respect difference whilst removing inequalities and barriers that may already exist.
The Equality Objectives should be read in conjunction with the Accessibility Policy and the Equality and Diversity Policy
1. Eliminated discrimination
2. Advance equality of opportunity
3. Foster good relationships
Equal Opportunity Statement
At Woodhouse Primary Academy we endeavour to ensure that everyone is treated fairly. All children are given equal access to all aspects of school life including our curriculum. Liaising with parents, we design specific programmes to ensure that individual needs are met.
Racial Equality Statement
Our children are prepared for life in an ethnically diverse society. At Woodhouse Primary Academy we promote racial harmony by preventing and challenging racism. If anyone ever feels unfairly treated then the school welcomes and values a response. By working together we will continue to make our school even better.
Safeguarding Children Statement
At Woodhouse Primary Academy we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all of the children entrusted to our care. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. In order to ensure that this expression becomes a reality, a wide range of measures are in place. Our Safeguarding Policy is available on line and can be requested from the office at any time.
