“What a fantastic school! All 3 of my children have had an amazing start to their education with thanks to Woodhouse. A caring school, with fantastic staff and teachers. A real gem and asset to the local community!” – Jenny, Parent.
“Woodhouse is a very family orientated school. It is more like a community and that’s how the children and parents / carers of children are treated. Teachers are very approachable and deal with any concerns which may arise promptly from my experience. The staff are very friendly and care about the children’s education and i believe this is due to the great leadership and approach Mr Wilson has as a head teacher. I would highly recommend Woodhouse to any local parents looking for a school to send their child to.” – Sadia, Parent.
“I moved my daughter to Woodhouse Primary Academy when she started Year 4 and that was the best decision for her. She came into school with very low self esteem from the previous school. The staff helped her so much and her transformation is really incredible! I am very grateful that we had this opportunity.” – Elena, Parent.
“In the local area there are so many primary schools to chose from, I would urge those starting to think about primary for their child to consider Woodhouse Primary Academy. Our daughter has flourished, academically, socially and emotionally. She has loved all the opportunities from choir, PE and sport, trips to the theatre, Black Country living museum and the Yr 1 day trip to Weston-Super-Mare! She has found her way though these different opportunities to embrace her love of nature, you would think this difficult in a school with limited green and grass areas, but they have the wonderful access to Pitts Wood for forest school, the trim trail and due to this she has become part of Eco club and turning into a right little Eco Champion! The whole school has a friendly and warm environment, nurturing those with SEND and the more vulnerable whilst also achieving strong results at the end of Yr 6. There is a before and after school club run by in-house staff daily 7.30-6pm ideal for working parents.” – Parent with Daughter in Y2
Thank you so much for your interest in our wonderful school!
We are proud that Woodhouse Primary Academy is an over-subscribed and popular school. We have waiting lists in all year groups, and each year we have significantly more applications for a place in our Reception than there are places each year. This follows a trend over recent years of the increasing popularity of our school in the local community. We do also take new children across the school during the year as places become available, so if you are interested in joining us – please do get in touch! If there is not a space for your child, then you would be welcome to join our waiting list. Places do become available during the year, so your wait might not be for long.
If you wish to apply for our fantastic teacher-led nursery for Autumn term 2026 or for the future, then please get in touch. Whether you need a 15 hour or 30 hour place, you can access the new application form here. If you need to fill the form in on a mobile device, please scan the QR code just below. Please return the form by email. You can check if you will be eligible for a 30 hour place at the HMRC website, here. If you need a 30 hour place, you will need to let us know the code on your application. Priority is given to siblings, and then places are allocated by distance.

To make an application in Reception to Year 6, known as an “in-year transfer”, you can access the transfer form here. Please return the form by email. Your child will then be added to our waiting list. We are currently full in all year groups. Priority is given to siblings, and then places are allocated according to distance.
Visits to our school for prospective parents can be arranged and will help you to experience what Woodhouse is about and see us in action! If this is of interest, especially for Reception 2026 places, you should contact enquiries@whp.greenheartlearning.org in the Autumn Term to book onto a tour and arrange this well before the January 2026 deadline. Visits will be for small groups of parents and can be arranged to suit you, these will take about 40 minutes to see our school at work.
Our pre-booked school tours for our 2026 intake have now been completed. If you would like a school tour please call the school office to discuss.
It is advisable that you come see us before the National Submission date for 2026 Reception places, Wednesday 14th January 2026. Further details of the process of application can be found on the Birmingham City Council website here. The online process for Reception 2026 Admissions will go live from 1st October 2025. Children with dates of birth between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022, that reside in Birmingham and do not have an Education, Health and Care Plan should apply. If you live outside of Birmingham they must apply to their home Local Authority (wherever you pay your Council Tax e.g. Sandwell or Dudley). Please remember that children with siblings or a Nursery place at Woodhouse still need to apply as above.
The BCC admissions arrangements for 2024 can be seen here. The Woodhouse Primary Academy admissions arrangements for 2024-2025 can be seen here, 2025-2026 here and 2026-2027 here.
Admission arrangements for 2027-2028 can be found here.
Our resource base for Autism, the Rainbow Room, is very heavily over-subscribed and we currently have no available spaces. Admissions are through Birmingham City Council SENAR only. However, we will have some pre-arranged sessions for possible 2026/2027 or future admissions so that parents can find out more about the resource base provision. Spaces on visits are strictly limited, and you will need to contact the school and book onto a visit session for the resource base.
You can also tell a great deal about our school and what it is like to be a part of our Woodhouse community online. There is everything here on the website: details of our curriculum, lots of information about what makes Woodhouse special. You can even look back through our past letters and newsletters to see the vibrant life of our school over time! We also have a healthy stock of pre-loved uniform and clothing available for families.

“My daughter came to Woodhouse in year 2 and the transformation from then to year 6 is incredible. I will never be able to thank the teachers and support staff enough for the work and encouragement that has been given to my daughter. Because of this wonderful school she now heads off to secondary full of confidence and an amazing academic level that has been achieved by all involved in her school journey here. I am forever grateful and Woodhouse will always hold a very special place in our hearts!” – Parent of CC, Year 6 Child
